DUTIES:

  • Development of methods and specifications, method qualification and transfer to support API and drug product manufacturing
  • Supporting GMP analysis
  • Supporting the development of appropriate methods and performing characterization of research materials.
  • Partnering with CMC functional groups to create project GMP documentation including specifications, test methods, and certificates of analysis.
  • Performs duties consistent with cGMP regulations.
  • Maintains laboratory equipment and supplies as directed
  • Instrument specific experience with ICP-MS, Laser Particle Size, KF, HPLC, and GC instrumentation
  • Maintains a clean and safe work-space.
  • Maintains laboratory notebook and/or computer files according to standard, accepted practices.
  • Participates in group and project meetings as required.
  • Participates in and complies with all current safety, health and environmental programs.
  • Performs other related duties assigned by management.
  • Executes a wide range of laboratory techniques and actively investigates new techniques.
  • Builds a familiarity with the current scientific literature in the area of analytical chemistry.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills related to analytical chemistry.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong understanding of analytical laboratory techniques, method development, GMP requirements.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and in teams, manages multiple tasks.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in timelines and project flow are desired.
  • Previous supervisory experience with a focus on staff development is strongly preferred.
  • BS or MS in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or related field
  • 3 - 5+ years of experience in analytical and pharmaceutical development. Preference is for experience supporting development and manufacture of small molecule APIs and solid oral dosage forms for investigational products.
  • Excellent skills in general laboratory techniques.
  • Strong analytical chemistry background, with emphasis on ICP-MS Laser Particle Size, KF, HPLC, GC, and wet chemistry techniques.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of GMP concepts.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and in teams.
  • Manages multiple tasks.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in timelines and project flow are desired.
